Algoma — Discover France is about bringing France a little closer to American travelers, through the eyes of someone born and raised in France, to a French father and an American mother who grew up in Algoma, a small village on the shores of Lake Michigan — a dual heritage that naturally connects both cultures.
France is one of those rare countries where history, architecture, gastronomy and art are so intertwined that even its own people are still discovering it. Growing up French means absorbing centuries of culture, almost without noticing — the Roman aqueducts your teacher mentioned, the playwright whose comedies you studied in school, the wine region your parents drove through on a summer holiday.
This blog is my way of sharing that layered, insider knowledge — not as a travel expert or a tour guide, but as someone who genuinely cares about this country and wants you to experience it beyond the postcard.
